Environmental Activities

The Foundation supports a range of environmental activities and initiatives which aim to systematically promote environmental awareness, monitoring and community-based stewardship.

These include capacity building incentives, voluntary environmental plans and environmental awards for organizations, teams and individuals as well as the development of environmentally conscious products and the provision of best practice environmental information.

 


 

Environmental Education

Organized efforts to increase people's knowledge and awareness about the environment and associated challenges; teach about how natural environments function and, particularly, how humans can manage their behavior and ecosystems in order to live sustainably.

It includes efforts to educate the public and other audiences by fostering appropriate attitudes, motivations and commitments to make informed decisions and take responsible actions.

 


 

Environmental Partnerships

Environmental partnerships seeks to strengthen relationships and enhance communication between key stakeholders including environmental organizations, industries and relevant Government agencies. It aims to develop better linkages with and greater understanding of coastal communities and enhance local involvement in decision-making, compliance and stewardship for the Great Barrier Reef and coral reefs world-wide.

 


 

Indigenous Engagement

Ensuring that Indigenous groups have the opportunity of exercising their inherent rights and obligations to manage their land and sea country and protect their cultural values.
